During my Masters degree I learnt a huge amount. I made three games, two in Unreal and one in Unity. Below are some examples of what I learned and what I made.
Point-click Adventure Game Set in Cold War Berlin
I made this game alone as a part of my final thesis. My thesis explored the way games use the illusion of choice and player control in their narrative design.
The game was a short point-click adventure game in which the player was encouraged to help their character, a western spy, escape eastern Berlin across the wall. The idea was to show that you could easily create a game that appeared to involve a lot of player choice when in fact the story is linear and the ending is fixed. I achieved this from examining what techniques other 'choice driven' narrative games employed to create the illusion of choice in their games.

First-Person jumping game in Unreal

Third-Person dolphin exploration game
For this game my team and I created a 3d world in which the player explored as a dolphin. We decided for the level to involve no danger and only exploration. I created the underwater vegetation as well as some sea dwelling animals for the game.
